The locals won't allow the reservoir to be built!
The government allowed the construction of a reservoir in Sainte-Soline, but the locals opposed it, because they were not told what the purpose of this reservoir would be. The locals, however, prevented the work from starting because they fear that this reservoir poses some environmental threat and fear for the purity of their drinking water.
Several thousand people gathered at the reservoir, and 3,000 riot police were sent to the scene. The police used tear gas to calm the crowd.
