They tried to remove Macron and his government!
The protesters are trying to pressure lawmakers to topple Macron's government and condemn the unpopular retirement age hike he is trying to introduce without a vote in the National Assembly.
After Macron instructed Elisabeth Borne to invoke a special constitutional resolution to bypass the chaotic lower house vote. Right- and left-wing representatives submitted a no-confidence motion against his government on Friday.
Of course, this was rejected, for now the Macron dictatorship will remain in France! However, the demonstrations are no longer peaceful, as they were at the beginning, and often turn into violent clashes. The trade unions and the organizers of the demonstration say that they will not take to the streets until Macron's decree is withdrawn or he and his government resign!
