Demonstrations have erupted in the Gaza Strip after an Israeli military raid killed nine Palestinians in a firefight in Jenin in the occupied West Bank. The Israelis said they attacked the soldiers during the raid and then opened fire on the Palestinians. The army said it carried out airstrikes on several sites where armed groups had gathered after the shooting because several rockets were fired at Israel, but the anti-aircraft missiles destroyed them. During the events, Palestine immediately suspended cooperation with the Israeli authorities.
