China has announced that it will expand its military exercises off the coast of Taiwan. The drills were supposed to end on Sunday, but Beijing said submarine and naval attack drills would continue. After her visit to Taipei last week, the Speaker of the American House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, expressed her displeasure at the Chinese military exercise. Taiwan accused China of trying to prepare the exercise for an invasion of the island.
