We publish the OECD report!
OECD annual inflation rose to 10.3% in June 2022, compared to 9.7% in May. This is the sharpest price increase since June 1988. About a third of OECD countries registered double-digit inflation.
Food price inflation in the OECD continued to rise strongly, reaching 13.3% in June 2022, up from 12.6% in May, the strongest food price increase since July 1975. Energy price inflation jumped to 40.7% year-on-year in June 2022, compared to 35.4% in May. Annual inflation excluding food and energy rose to 6.7% in June 2022, up from 6.4% in May.
Year-on-year inflation measured by the harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) in the euro area rose to 8.6% in June 2022 compared to 8.1% in May. Between May and June 2022, the inflation of both food and energy prices showed a strong increase, but not in such numbers as the Orbán government is trying to make people believe!
