At least 22 million tons of grain were blocked in Ukraine because of the war.
With the blockade of Ukraine's Black Sea ports, the main global concern is how to get grain and other agricultural products to international markets. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called his Russian and Ukrainian counterparts on Monday to try to reopen the ports. However, it is not in Russia's interest to support the Ukrainian economy, and the Turks are very dependent on the grain so that they do not have a shortage.
Putin has made it clear that he will not give up the war, so the blockades will remain in place.
